Function Analyzer

The Seeing Math™ Function Analyzer provides a real-time connection between symbolic, graphic, and area model representations of linear functions, so that changes in the symbolic and area model representations instantly cause changes in each other and in the graphic representation. In addition, by allowing learners to change the value of elements in a linear function-the coefficient of x, the value of the independent variable, the constant (y-intercept), and the value of the dependent variable-the Function Analyzer helps to highlight graphically the rationale behind symbolic operations to solve an equation and the nature of x as both independent variable and unknown.


Linear Transformer

The Seeing Math™ Linear Transformer provides a real-time, two-way connection between symbolic and graphic representations of linear functions, so that changes in one representation instantly cause changes in the other representation. The Linear Transformer helps to highlight the meaning of each component of the symbolic expression by enabling the user to transform the graph of a linear function by translating (dragging) the line vertically or horizontally, rotating it around a fixed point, or reflecting it around the x- or y-axis.


Piecewise Linear Grapher

The Seeing Math™ Piecewise Linear Grapher provides a real-time, two-way connection between symbolic and graphic representations of piecewise linear functions, so that changes in one representation instantly cause changes in the other representation. The Piecewise Linear Grapher helps to highlight the language of domain and range and the ideas of continuity and discontinuity of functions by enabling users to display and modify each interval of a function.


Quadratic Transformer

The Seeing Math™ Quadratic Transformer provides a real-time connection between symbolic and graphic representations of quadratic functions, so that changes in the symbolic representation cause simultaneous changes in the graphic representation. Being able to instantly observe the effect of changing each coefficient of the polynomial, vertex, and root forms of the symbolic expression helps to highlight the characteristics of the quadratic function it describes and the significance of each form.

The Seeing Math™ Qualitative Grapher provides a connection between graphic and motion model representations of functions. The Qualitative Grapher helps to highlight the meaning of the graphic representation of a function and how a function can be seen as something changing over time by enabling users to construct a piecewise function that contains linear and/or non-linear segments.
